all,

The placement was off on one panel ( 4 up ) out of the batch. It was off by approx 1mm in the y-axis.

No obvious faults found with machine.

Any experience of such problem - I am guessing this is a sign of something wearing on the machine or slipping ?

all replies , greatly appreciated.

AJ. The mechanical clamping units on the xyz table are notorious for slipping on these machines.

Usually they can be fixed. The clamping brakes get flat spots worn on them.(Replace them) The table frame itself can get grooves worn in it as well. In that case you will need to get creative..a new frame could get pricey.

I am not saying that this is your problem, but it is definitely a place to start.
