Electrovert OmniExcel 10 Oven - Zone 5 Upper won't hold temperature | 25 October, 2012

Hello all,

I am having difficulty with an OmniExcel 10 oven. Zone 5 upper will not hold setpoint = 165C (it typically runs ~10C higher). Here is what I know: 1. The machine is not turning on zone 5 heat when temp is too high. 2. Zone 5 lower is right at setpoint. 3. Adjacent zones (4 = 180C, 6 = 165C) are at setpoint. 4. I independently measured when zone 5 upper is too high. Independent measurement agrees with the zone T/C. 5. I replaced the SSR for the zone 5 heater. No change. 6. I disabled zone 5 upper heater (just to make sure it wasn't coming on). I watched temperature for about 15 minutes and it remained high. 7. I disabled zone 5 blower motor and temperature remained high.

Any suggestion? I appreciate all of your feedback!

are you sure the zone 5 blower is running? sounds like it isnt.... no harm to check all blowers while you are at it.
