SIPLACE 80S-15 and 80F-3 help needed | 5 August, 2013

Greetings.

I'm having some difficulties in configuring 2 old SIPLACE Placement Machines - 80S-15 and 80F-3. They are already installed, there are no errors on machines computers, but I can't configure connection between these machines and the line computer. While configuring the line computer the program asks me for the network address of each machine. I can't find it in configurable options of machine's computer. All the printed documentation is on German, so I'm having some difficulties in translating it too.

So, here are the questions. 1. Where can I find and configure machine's computer network address? 2. Is there any documentation in web on configuring and using of these machines (S15 and F3) on English, so I can download (or buy) it?

Any help will be appreciated.

Not sure how the S15 works, but on the S20s & F4s there is a file on the C:WindowsSystem32driversetchosts that contains the Machine controller IP address & the Line Controller IP address, hope it helps.

Then you have to register yourself to get access to all Manuals.

There are usermanuals for S15/F3 available.

Hi,

Boot the station computer with a dos disk, open real.ma with an editor, find the adresse near the top and get it to match what you have configured in your line computer.

Hi All,

I know that is thread hasn't seen activity in a year or so...

I'm having a similar issue in configuring a line.

I see that the IEC addr is called version in the real.ma file. This is not helping me since I apparently have two machines that have the same IEC addr. I tried going through the setup program which supposedly allows you to change the IEC addr but I haven't been able to get this to work either - doesn't seem to update the *.ma files and the line computer still doesn't see it with the addr matching what it is expecting. Maybe I'm missing something or not doing it in the correct order etc...

I sure hope to hell someone knows the sequence to make this happen.

Prob totally screwed the pooch... Got more than a little frustrated with not being able to get the stupid software to do what I thought it should do, anyway figured maybe the IEC port was the problem - I have a couple of spare cpu cards, so I swapped it out. Came up with a CMOS error. Reconfigured the cmos and then got no OS msg. Somehow it seems to have lost the extended logical partition. Tried to add it back - didn't work. So now I'm at a point I'm not sure what the eph to do and am thinking that I'm going to have to rebuild everything.

I pray to God someone out there has some ideas of what to do.
