Component Identity Help!

Component Identity Help! | 30 December, 2000

I'm hoping someone on this forum can ID this component. This is a Piccolo board used in an 8 ounce micro electric helicopter. This board has (2) 5 amp speed controls and a single rate piezo gyro to stabilize the helicopter in flight.

My father's Piccolo board had problems with the attached receiver. In removing the receiver from this board, double sided tape mounting tape pulled the foil elements from this component. I believe it to be (3) resistors but after many searches on the net I cannot find it.

Please drop me an email if you think you can help. My Piccolo helicopter is in use, but until I repair this board my father is grounded...

Thanks in advance

For some reason it will not work in the above post...

Thanks

John, I'm no helicopter guru but maybe someone in these links can help. Good luck-Stevo

Mario of MIA Micro-Flight fame has put a very nice diagram of how to hook-up seperate components in a Piccolo board fashion on his website. If you are thinking of using seperates this should make it clear how you set it up. His site is http://www.micro-flight.com/ Look about 1/2 way down the page for the hook-up diagram and info. He also has some hot looking rotor blades that will fit on the Piccolo if you slide the tail back a little. I have some on order and will let everyone know about them once they arrive.

Thanks for the reply Stevo...!

I am looking at doing just that. I would really like to ID this component and repair this Pico board though... After several searches, I can't find any (3) element resistor or capacitor networks to match it. I'm hoping it' something someone on this forum can ID.

Besides, I need to save some cash for some Carbon blades for the mains and tail rotor... ;-)

Thanks

Hello John.L

Ill think it is an Ceramic Resonator,The manufacturer might be Murata.

Thanks for the info Patric...!

Using that and the info I recvd on the PIC I jumpered across the resonator and the board now functions.

We'll be testing tonight with the Heli and see how it goes.

Thanks for everyone's help!

Thanks for the info Patric...!

Using that I found the resonator on the Manu's website. Armed with that and info I recvd on the PIC, I jumpered across the resonator and the board now functions.

We'll be testing tonight with the Heli and see how it goes.

Thanks for everyone's help!
