JUKI and USB 2 Floppy Disk emulator | 23 August, 2022

Can anybody recomend exact model number of USB to floppy disk emulator, which works for sure on JUKI KE7xx series PnP machines? I have bought this one : https://www.gotekemulator.com/P_view.asp?pid=54 and have KE760 machine, but it doesnt work (tried to create small partition 2Gb , formatted to FAT16, still no luck)

Seems there is alot firmware options, as back those days there were not many standards implemented yet, and alot HW incompatibilty could be observed (this manufacturer has about 50different versions) https://floppyusbemulator.com/shop?orderby=price-desc&product_cat=n-drive-industrial&count=60

We have the Emerald-X (Yamaha YV88X) and used this article and software for our machine. Working very well.

Perhaps consider the software from the above link.

The emulator doesn't work that way. You can create only 1.44 MB partitions (e.g. 100 pieces on one flash drive) (with the supplied software) and they will be visible as floppy disks. It is not a USB port.

Sorry for my misunderstanding of the OP's details.

USB floppies are stand alone devices and will require a proper USB driver and/or USB stack to support this external device.

Respectively, if in DOS -> a DOS USB stack will be required. If Windows -> the USB driver for this device will be required. If Juki has a custom OS then even less of a chance of a success.

In all cases, you are introducing far too many layers of unnecessary software that is doomed to fail or at least consume time to perfect.

Remain with the idea of the hardware you have which is converting the FDC (floppy drive controller) to USB media. The hardware is transparent to the original electronics. The main system in your PNP machine believes it is talking with a standard Floppy Drive yet the USB stick is responding. It is a brilliant idea that works well.
