Smt juki 2060 is constantly throwing Tombstone error messages when using 0402 parts. Is there something possibly that needs adjustment? Almost every part comes up with the error message at the beginning of the Run and they're all tombstone messages but are aligned perfect when tracked. Nozzle is correct size. Checked already. Was curious if anybody any hints or tricks as to what possibly is making this happen on a regular basis so that I can help this process move forward or am I always going to have to deal with this on these machines

Check your 500 nozzles under a microscope very closely for tip damage, clogs, or un-smooth spring action. 1 bad nozzle can make it seem like you have a chronic problem. If you have knock off nozzles (chinese reproductions) that can be an additional issue.

Okay that makes sense actually. I was under that impression anyways but just wanted some verification from other people and places. Yeah then also are not all jukey nozzles. Working on trying to get some juicy approved at least or authentic if the problem keeps persisting

Also small quantities of solder paste can work its way into the shaft making pickup vacuum erratic also between the inner and outer shafts making travel up and down erratic which can cause bad placement. We always used to clean the nozzles in isopropyl alcohol every day and sometimes more often as required.

We have issues with different Juki machines needing different nozzles for 0402 and 0201 components, some 0402s need a 502 and then on another machine it needs a 503. We went away from the 500 nozzle series

There are a couple of things you can try that seemed to help me with this problem. 1.Get your HMS height off of the paper tape halfway between the pocket and the edge of the tape. 2. Change your "pick stroke" for that part to "0" 3. Check you component data and make sure that the tombstone height is greater than the component height. (For some reason after optimization some of my components have a tombstone height less than the component height forcing the machine to error on every pick. 4. Increase your component height by .01, this will recalculate the tombstone height automatically, or just have the machine remeasure the part. Also I would stick to the 500 nozzle, it works fine for 0402 and is more versatile reducing production time.
