About the current issues of surface mount devices | 13 April, 1999

Hello.

I'm now investigating the current technological issues on surface mount devices. For example, I want to know the limitation of the surface mount machine.

Where can I get the materials for this purpose?

Thank you

The range and important of these difference is huge. For example:

1 Some placement machines can not pick from all feeders with all heads. 2 Some feeders have adjustable pitch, others do not. 3 Some feeders can be stored on shelves, others require peculiar storage racks. 4 Some semi-automated printers with vision systems allow printing without the stencil being aligned to the board. 5 Some ovens do not allow the lower zones to be adjusted separately from the upper zones.

The best place to find the capabilities of machines is from machine sales reps. The best place to find the limitations of machines is from machine users.

Just ask a vendor why there machine is not as good as another and you will see! How ever I have right here a copy of Circuits Assembly magazine, November issue 1998 Page 52," SCREEN PRINTER EQUIPMENT SURVEY" I will put a link to the magazine below. I believe they have done alot of other surveys as well. Hope it helps,.......Jeff

| Hello. | | I'm now investigating the current technological issues | on surface mount devices. | For example, I want to know the limitation of | the surface mount machine. | | Where can I get the materials for this purpose? | | Thank you | Hy Choi, I'm at Technical University Belrin and we did some survey on SMT-Mashines. We got the Datasheets for about 120 Mashines from 40 maufacturer. We got lots of details concerning Working Principle, Heads, Size, felxibility, Magazine, placeable Components ect. We got a printed version, a MSAccess-Database and a Online-Web-Version. BUT, as it was quite a lot of work, we sell the Database. But I think we can make a good price for you. Take a look at the Online DEMO at: http://130.149.112.95/smtdb/firmen.idc Look for the Data of SIEMENS and ZEVATECH !!!! Which is the only data in the DEMO. Or get the MSACCESS97-DEMO (with the same Data Siemens and Zevatech) at: http://130.149.112.95/smtdb/SMT_DB_demo.exe If you don't mind the German language, take a look at our Project Homepage and learn about or research in simulation and optimisation of SMT-Assembly Systems http://pm-box.ww.tu-berlin.de/dfg/Normal/frame_norm.htm
