Hi Martin, I found the Amistar very easy to program and operate, but I recommend using a PC link ( PROCOMM )for data up and download. Despite the age of the machine, Amistar was extremly helpful in telephone support. We purchased some additional manuals from Amistar and I assume all other manuals are still available. The AI6448 works best with "standard" size components. If the leads are too thin they bend and get stuck in one of the holding stations, if the leads are too thick the vacuum doesn't get the clippings out of the cutter head. Amistar's optical correction system is a big plus.
| Hi, | | I presently have a friend (who doesn't have access to the net) who is on the edge of buying an Amistar AI-6448 and a CI-1000. He wants to know if programming these 2 types of PTH assemblers are easy to program, are they dependable, is board change-over rapid, and are these machines flexible for the various PTH board components ? | | Please send as much feedback as possible. He would also be looking for the manuals for these machines. If anyone has them, he would be willing to buy them or to borrow them to make copies. | | Regards, | | Martin |
