Good Afternoon. Hope all is well with everyone. I was wondering, What is the preferred equipment to use for BGA rework/replacement and xray? I would like to know what equipment you are using and your likes/dislikes of the equipment.

Hello Morris,

To what level are you looking to automate your rework process? What are the main issues/criteria that you are looking to inspect and rework?

Genrad owns Nicolet, the market leader in the manufacturing of X-ray inspection equipment and SRT, the manufacturer of Rework systems. These two companies are recognized as best in class manufacturers with over 1300 SRT systems installed in 22 countries and over 2200 Nicolet systems installed as well.

You can find information on the model line at http://www.genrad.com

They can also run an application review for your product if you are willing to supply samples.

Best regards, Sean

Hello Morris,

We have a Nicolet NXR1525 X-Ray system and an Air Vac DRS 24 rework station. I love the Nicolet. The software makes void calculation and measurements a breeze. The Air Vac is a wonderful machine but takes a little getting used to for programing. I have it down now but the first few programs were tough.

Hope this helps.

Chris
