Can't identify a part | 25 May, 2000

I have thin rectangular shaped part. It has three pins two close on one side and one on the other. The numbers on the part are:

tcxo413 tcc9951

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hello Jason Sorry that I can't be of much help as your part seems to be proprietary to a specific OEM manufacturer. I would guess that it is a Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator by the TCXO and the shape. This is basically a precision crystal controlled oscillator that adjusts its output frequency to remain constant with changes in ambient temperature. I would have expected more numbers describing the output frequency (E.G. 27.832 MHz). Is there a manufacturers name or logo? If you are trying to replace this item you will probably have to go to the original manufacturer. If you are trying to duplicate a working oscillator you could measure its frequency with the appropriate frequency meter. Good luck John Thorup

I seems to be S0T-23 device, and the marking is most likley a lot number plus DC. With out the manufactures name it will be difficult find out what the part is.

Jason: I agree with John that "tcxo" makes me think of temperature compensated (controlled) crystal oscillator, but those thangs usuall have four leads => 2 for the oscillator and two for the control line.

How about this: the "9951" may be a date code for the fifty first week of 1999.

Good luck Dave F
