Depanelization for PCMCIA

Depanelization for PCMCIA | 22 April, 1999

Could anyone recommend a good depanization tool for a PCMCIA panel which has breakaways. For several reasons, we decided to go with this approach rather than scoring and I'm less than pleased with the punch presses we currently use. Any help will be appreciated!

Hey Kem!

Sure can! Click on the link below which will take ya' to Radoll Designs WEB page. Their "PanelMaster" is a pretty slick unit! I got to play around with it at the IPC Printed Circuits Expo 99, and it does a real good job!

Those blades hanging out in the open may look a little menacing, but they ain't...they only spin at the rpm that the board is fed into it. They don't actually cut the laminate, but do a type of "V" separation of the laminate...no stress on anything close to the cut.

It'll do PCMCIA boards, and laminates all the way up to .093" thicknesses. It's not all that expensive either. When I need something like that at my shop, that's what I'm buying!

Yoou may want to try cab Produkttechnik. Better tools, better made, cheaper (That's my experience)
