Speakers:

Robert Boguski

Robert Boguski is a 1981 graduate of The University of San Francisco (BA Economics). Robert has worked in the electronics packaging and interconnect manufacturing and testing business, primarily in management positions, since he was a teenager (1975). 22 years in the bare board business, 12 years in the EMS business, and 16 years in the testing and test engineering business (Some overlap with EMS). Together with his wife of 37+ years (and fellow SMTA officer) Regina, Robert is the Owner and President of Datest, a test engineering and failure analysis company located in Fremont, California. Robert, Regina, and/or their Company, Datest, are members of SMTA, IPC, and IEEE. Datest is also a member of the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) as well as the European Institute of Printed Circuits (EIPC). Since 2013 Robert has co-authored the Test and Measurement column for Circuits Assembly Magazine. Robert served from 2013-2016 as the Vice-President, Technical Programs, and from 2016-2019 as the President of the SMTA Silicon Valley Chapter. Since 2019 he has been a Member of the National Board of Directors of SMTA and in that capacity is also currently serving as VP of Membership

Mohammed Abueed

Mohammed Abueed has finished his Ph.D. degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering in December of 2020 from Auburn University. He earned a master's in Industrial and systems engineering as well from Auburn University. He also has two degrees: bachelor's and master's in Mechanical engineering. Recently, he joined Nokia Bell Labs as a reliability engineer in New Jersey. It’s an enormous lab working on testing and improving hundreds of applications in several fields. He worked as a research assistant for CAVE3 on electronics reliability and manufacturability during my doctorate journey since Fall 2017 and successfully lead industry-based research projects for a team of graduate students. He represented results in many local and international conferences as SMTAI and IPC. He also worked as a teaching assistant for several courses, especially Lean Manufacturing. He did a one-year Co-op in automotive tier-1 supplier OEM where I enhanced my knowledge and experience about lean and continuous improvement in a practical way. He has 6 plus years of experience in manufacturing and project management.

Sabrina M. Rosa-Ortiz

Sabrina M. Rosa-Ortiz is currently a Ph.D. candidate from the Electrical Engineering Department at the University of South Florida (USF) and recipient of several awards such as the Alfred P. Sloan fellowship from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation University Center of Exemplary Mentoring (UCEM), NSF Florida-Georgia Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (FGLSAMP) Bridge to Doctorate Fellowship, Intel SHPE Scholar, NASA-Florida Space Consortium Grant, 2020 JoAnn Stromberg Scholarship, among other awards. Her research is based on the study of Copper Electrodeposition over different substrates promoting the enhancement of copper deposits for the formation and development of flexible interconnections over printed circuit boards and textiles. As part of her research, she was able to develop a patent named “Electrochemical Three-Dimensional Printing and Soldering” in which she studied the hydrogen evolution assisted electroplating as a reliable source to obtain a rapid and lateral copper deposition. She is currently the SMTA USF Student Chapter President of the University of South Florida and is also responsible for bringing back the SMTA USF Student Chapter to the university. Her goal as the President is to create an environment where students have the opportunity to grow outside a classroom, to experience what industry is like, and to understand the impact they can make if they set their goals towards the right path. Being the President of the SMTA Chapter at USF has allowed me to connect with students through significant activities, allowing students to put in practice what they have learned from their Engineering courses. Upon completing her graduate degree she wants to grow with a company where she can continue learning and developing herself while contributing to the development of the company and promoting engineering among young professionals. 

Tony Feldmeier

Tony is a Materials Engineer at Honeywell Aerospace in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated from Iowa State University in the fall of 2019 with a B.S. in Materials Engineering. During college he had a 9-month internship at Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA. In his current role, he supports printed board assemblies across Honeywell Aerospace and the Materials Lab in Minneapolis. He also participates in industry through SAE committees, the Pb-free Electronics Risk Management (PERM) Council, IPC task groups and the IPC Emerging Engineer program.

Kim Cannon

Kim Cannon is an engineering manager at Plexus Corporation, working with multidisciplinary teams to provide contract engineering design services for clients within the market sectors of industrial, healthcare and life sciences, and aerospace and defense. Prior to managing, Kim contributed as a digital hardware engineer and software engineer.  Outside of work, Kim has been actively involved as a volunteer with FIRST Robotics and Lego League, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Children’s Ministry.  Kim holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and Project Management Associate Certificate from Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE).
