SMT Solder Trainer

Thales Communications, Inc. is currently seeking an SMT Solder Trainer for our Clarksburg, Maryland location. The primary responsibility of this position will be to organize and conduct our in-house SMT/Solder Training programs. Responsibilities: The successful candidate must have successfully delivered Hand Solder training per IPC-610. This is a hands-on, single person position demanding the ability to construct and deliver Hand Solder training programs, such as General Hand Soldering, SMT Rework, Terminals, SMT Repair and Recertification courses. Training methods must include lecture, hands-on instruction, and the use of computer-aided instructional technologies. These training courses will be presented to a variety of employees who work on different shifts. A flexible work schedule is desirable. Occasional travel may also be required. Qualifications : To be considered for this exciting and challenging role you must have: U.S. Citizenship. The applicant selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of five years of experience in electronics manufacturing 3+ years training experience J-Std-001 Instructor Certification Detailed knowledge of IPC-7711A Rework of SMT assemblies Strong verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills Portfolio of training materials from design, development and delivery. Must have working familiarization with and user knowledge of SMT processes. PREFERRED SKILLS: A general knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 IPC-7721A Repair of SMT assemblies Familiar with Lead-Free Initiatives An Associates degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred. However candidates with extensive (10+ years) of hand & SMT solder training experience will be considered.
