Job Description:

IT Operations Analyst (M10097) Mountain View, CA As a IT Operations Analyst you will be responsible for the day to day operations of all Production Systems and Services to assure effective systems availability and performance needed to support overall company goals. Your duties will include monitoring appropriate systems, using documented procedures. These will include ASK/HP ManMan, NT Print and File Servers, Exchange Server, Network Equipment (Nortel, Bay, Cisco, etc.) and WAN. You will recover services using documented procedures such as reboot, restart, etc. You will run routine batch jobs and monitor log files (ASK/HP, NT, Exchange). This will include preventative maintenance, routine reporting and accounting close routines. You will perform system backups for ASK, NT and Exchange, including performing backups, ensuring completion, doing off-site storage daily, documenting back-ups, and maintaining archives and naming conventions that are consistent with policy. You will also recover systems (ASK, NT, Exchange) upon request in collaboration with other appropriate IT staff. You will document recovery as well as be the contact point for coordinating delivery of off-site archives. You will interface with users to answer questions regarding ASK/HP, including reports and printer issues. You will add, change and delete user accounts for ASK/HP systems. You will control the deposition of all spool files including printing, distributing, microfiche and archiving. You will update spool file distribution per users request. You will initiate action to resolve system problems including hardware, software and facility. You will administer vendor contracts related to site software and hardware. You must have an AA or equivalent as well as three years in a mixed technical environment performing IT operations duties with ASK/HP ManMan, NT and MS Exchange being your primary focus. A thorough knowledge of MPE/iX operating system, Maestro and Spoolmate is required as well as a working knowledge of personal computers. Good communications skills and working in a team environment are important was well as NT administrator skills. You must have a knowledge of MS Exchange and multiple NT Servers as well as experience with setting up and training of PCs with MS products. You must have an understanding of fundamental network infrastructure components and their interface. As a team player you will be able to resolve problems under pressure, will have personal integrity, will be dependable and flexible and will be willing to work off-shift hours. You will have frequent interactions with peers, managers an user community and will report to the Operations Manager.
