Production Planner

Production Planner - A large electro-mechanical manufacturing company in the Sugar Land, Texas area currently has a full-time opening for a Production Planner. This is a direct hire position, available immediately. This position will be responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and for final approval of products through the complete production cycle. Will work from engineering plans and production specifications to establish production schedules, labor loading and capacity requirements. Coordinate produciton plans to ensure materials are provided according to schedules. Provide input to management, reschedules, and/or interfaces with marketing, sales, production and engineering managers to reschedule in case of design changes, labor and material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions. Ideal candidate must have: * College degree preferred, however equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of. * 3-5 years + experience in materials and planning with a good understanding of MRPII, JIT concepts and manufacturing operations. * Strong communication and negotiation skills are a MUST; ability to work with all organizational levels in a very fast paced environment. * Demonstrated ability to coordinate and set priorities. * Knowledge of automated planning systems & MRP II * Good analytical skills * Good organizational and time management skills. * PC skills, with good working knowledge of Microsoft office products. * Ability to make quick and accurate decisions independently and present to senior management * Good understanding of inventory managment and material related impacts. * APICS certifcation or working toward certification required.
