NAVMAN PCBA NPI Engineer
Reporting To: PCBA NPI Technical Leader
Primary Objective: Transition of PCBs from R&D design to a manufacturable state conforming to all facets of PCBA production
Secondary: Develop DFM & best practice guidelines
Responsibilities:
� Co-ordination events surrounding job creation & BOM confirmation, material marshaling and line setup for trial, sample & pilot production runs in accordance to product group customer demands
� Ensure PCB layout conforms to DFM documentation & reduce risk in fabrication by way of assessing:
o Land patterns
o Trace/Tracks
o PCB substrate
o Solder finish
o Ground planes
o Stack up
o Solder resist clearances
o Nodal access
o Fiducials / tooling holes
� New Part Introduction
o Evaluate data sheet
o Identify ESD & MSDS criteria
o Format / vender qualification
o Establish machine database & verify placement quality
o Land pattern / solder mask layout
� Generation of all PCBA production requirements encompassing
o Stencil printing machine & stencil verification
o Identification of 2D & 3D paste verification
o Optimized Placement files
o Works instructions for intrusive, PTH & test particulars
o Optimized reflow Oven Profile
o No test list
� Generation of product process maps
o Continually improve template
o Responsible for documenting the process
� First Article Inspection
o Sign off for first article inspection
o Verify lot quality assessing reporting by exception process & workmanship defects
o Release of production/test samples
KPIs
� Planned vs actual on line downtime for New Product Introduction (hrs)
� Product realization- bare board delivery with respect to population (hrs)
� Planned vs actual off line Cad/Cam program generation (hrs)
� Planned vs actual NPI project time allocation per project (hrs)
