Engineering Manager - SMT/Maintenance

A long established First Tier supplier to the Australian car industry, this company is now also an emerging force in the design and manufacture of automotive electronics systems to the world automotive market. Electronics production is state of the art � as characterised by automated surface mount machines with high speed placement capability � and underpinned by IPC610 quality processes and Total Planned Maintenance. This senior role will manage both SMT Engineering and Maintenance as a cost centre through two Team Leaders and a work group of 10 specialists, and will be measured on KPI targets which include product quality, efficiencies, customer delivery and overall equipment efficiency (OEE). Challenges will include achieving zero defects on all production lines, continually developing the quality system, supporting/approving DFM, PFMEA, PCP, etc, determining the capex requirements for SMT manufacturing and driving the introduction of Total Predictive Maintenance. You should offer personal (technical) competency in SMT, specific experience in large scale electronics production operations and �hands on� experience in the leadership/ management of teams of technical/engineering specialists in SMT. Degree qualifications in an appropriate engineering discipline and knowledge of automotive OEM requirements for quality, cost-downs and on-time delivery are other desired attributes.
