Responsible for managing the development, specifications, implementation of Advanced Manufacturing Technologies for printed circuit board assembly processes utilizing surface mount components. Directs Product Development / Product Engineering in supporting manufacturability decisions during the product creation process for new and existing products. Manages large-scale product and process development programs. Initiates programs to improve factory-engineering performance with advanced tools and methodologies. - Manages an engineering team providing technical support to Design Engineering and factory Manufacturing Engineering groups. - Develops and manages new manufacturing technology for new product introductions - Develops financial business cases for key technology programs and new equipment - Supports key programs in deploying Lean manufacturing techniques. - Develops and manage Manufacturing Technology Roadmaps. - Manages new equipment procurement, installations and service agreements - Negotiates equipment supplier contracts - Evaluates and recommends new equipment and process changes. - Directs design engineers assuring optimum manufacturability using advanced tools and methodologies. - Manages the timely delivery of new technologies at factory level. - Manages the deployment of manufacturing design rules for new products and processes. - Assists in solving technical equipment and process problems; directs manufacturing staff at factories when necessary. - Develops schedules and coordinates with factory the requirements, acceptance, installation and setup of new equipment and processes. - Leads the Global initiatives for manufacturing standardization and technology roadmaps - Insures good communications between factory personnel and Design Engineering - A four-year Bachelor of Science degree in technical field from an accredited university. Advanced degree preferred. - Minimum 15 years technical experience in the field of advance manufacturing technologies for PCB assembly, including SMD placement, soldering, final assembly. - (8) Years minimum managerial experience in Electronics manufacturing engineering environment - Knowledgeable of Industry standards, design rules, best practices relating to pcb assembly processes. - Experience with high volume/ high mix Lean-manufacturing concepts. - Experience with Corporate Advanced Manufacturing Design with Mexico manufacturing environment. - Advance Manufacturing techniques for mixed technology electronic products. - High volume electronics assembly techniques utilizing Lean manufacturing concepts - Large scale Project management - Excellent verbal and written communications skills; bilingual Spanish preferred - Effectively interfaces with Design engineering and factory personnel - Good documentation and training skills Must be willing to travel with extended stays in Mexico up to 30% Philips is an Equal Opportunity Employer Please apply online at http://careers.philips.com and reference position number #26231.
