Company Overview: Our client, part of a �Fortune 500� is a major Toronto-area, 500 employee (non-union) site manufacturing a wide range of electronics products for aerospace applications. Position Summary: The Site Director for the Toronto facility will be responsible for the successful management of all operations and processes in a Lean, Six Sigma production environment. The successful candidate will be accountable for shaping an operations vision and aggressively driving change, which will lead to �world-class� performance. Specific areas of pursuit will include plant productivity maximization, component rationalization and globalization, cost containment, internal and external quality incorporating voice of the customer feedback , and metrics, and improvement in inventory management, and on-time delivery. Also essential in this role will be to improve and foster a collaborative, team-oriented, high-performance work environment, including the acquisition and development of key talent, and the maintenance of a safe workplace for all employees. Position Responsibilities: �Provides strategic direction for all integrated supply chain activities and assists in the development of the business STRAP (1, 3 and 5 year strategic plans). �Supervises 5 direct reports; approximately 500 employees in manufacturing, production support, HS&E/facilities, and HR. Drives improved safety, quality, OTD, cost, productivity, and employee relations. �Develops a repair/overhaul & services strategy and drives an effective ISC goal deployment process that aligns with business goals and plans. �Responsible for developing and executing the AOP (Annual Operating Plan) and has direct responsibility for departmental spend and managing budget. �Integrates Six Sigma/Lean tools to improve process yields, reduce COPQ and drive shop floor productivity. �Owns and manages plant/people strategies, succession planning, budgetary planning & controls, staff development and performance management. �Provides site representation - community service activities, government and compliance representation. Qualifications: �BS Degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management/Supply Chain or related field; MBA preferred. �Minimum 5+ years managerial experience in electronics assembly, test, and/or an automated production line. �Proven experience in Lean Manufacturing; Six Sigma certification preferred. �Demonstrated success in leading change and establishing operational metrics/key indicators for process control, communication, and performance improvement. �Ability to develop, execute and achieve tactical and strategic initiatives through active leadership that positively impact business plans, operating profits, practices, policies and procedures. �Ability to effectively select, develop, coach, empower and motivate a staff to ensure growth in their scope of responsibility and accountability for operational excellence. �Ability to develop a long-term operations strategy in addition to supervising tactical, day-to-day activities. �Assertive, results-focused individual with strong follow-up skills; proactive communicator with excellent people management capabilities.
