SMT Process Engineer

A growing Tier 1 Automotive Supplier is seeking an SMT Process Engineer to join thier team! Primarily responsible for program and process development, analysis and troubleshooting of all Surface Mount Technology (SMT) processes and equipment. Must have thorough knowledge of pick & place equipment, associated optical systems and reference libraries. Fuji experience would be beneficial. ESSENTIAL DUTIES 1.Able to be strong participant in cross functional team supporting manufacturing teams. 2.Develop, program, maintain and improve all SMT processes. 3.Optimize programs to improve equipment effectiveness. 4.Optimize setup time to improve equipment effectiveness. 5.Analyze yield of SMT processes to ensure process capabilities and throughput. 6.Analyze SMT defects to determine likely failure modes. 7.Write reports of findings; be a key expert on surface mount devices. 8.Present findings and recommendations to upper management. 9.Train operators in importance of correct SMT process controls with respect to quality. 10.Understand, follow, and enforce control systems in place. 11.Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques including poka-yoke, kaizen, one-piece flow. 12.Able to work with other engineering disciplines and manufacturing. 13.Responsible for conducting organized studies and experiments to identify the root cause of assembly or quality problems. 14.Work with design and pilot factory on an ongoing basis. 15.Provides input to capital budget process. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering Experience: 7-10 years experience in electronic assembly
