Job Description:

Manufacturing / SMT Process Engineer ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Others may be assigned. � Conceive, develop, document, and implement manufacturing processes for PCB assembly � Creates and maintains process instructions for SMT and related processes � Creates and maintains all soldering profiles for new and existing products. � Conducts root cause analysis and propose corrective actions for continuous improvements and for resolution to manufacturing problems including but not limited to SMT and or hand assembly processes, machines, or programming problems � Plans, directs and coordinates manufacturing processes. � Develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods (equipment, tooling, materials). � Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements and workflow and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. � Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. � Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. � Estimates production times, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions. � Confers with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes. � Updates assembly instructions and methods. Qualifications 1. Bachelor�s degree in a technical field, preferably Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering. 2. Must possess a strong knowledge in all aspects of the SMT processes with at least 4 years of proven experience 3. Familiarity with through-hole PCB assembly and most other aspects of electronic assembly is strongly desirable 4. Lead-free knowledge and experience a plus 5. Must be experienced in fixture design, electrical design, mechanical measurement equipment, pneumatics, PLC�s, programming, CAD and basic machine shop equipment and use. 6. Working Knowledge of quality and workmanship standards IPC, Mil-Spec, ISO 7. Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Principles and their implementation desired. 8. Familiar with robotics and their operation is desired. 9. Must be a �hands on� individual with the ability to work directly and effectively with production personnel in order to solve production issues in an effective and timely manner. 10. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and to respond to questions from groups of employees, managers, clients or customers.
