Principal Electronic Engineer IV
Position Overview
We currently have an excellent career opportunity for a Principal Electronic Engineer (IV) to join our engineering department team at our Channel Products, Inc. facility in Chesterland, OH.
This position is responsible for designing and developing analog, digital and microprocessor based products to be used in the gas appliance ignition control marketplace. Assignments will consist of customer applications and product development.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for leading the design, development and implementation of gas and ignition technologies to support unique customer applications.
Leads the research and development effort of new product system applications as a universal family of products.
Responsible for the entire certification process for all safety controls and igniters.
Supports the manufacturing and procurement departments by analyzing legacy product issues and providing a solution per customer requests.
Assists the quality and sales department by analyzing field returns that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
Develops status reports to be used in providing continual communication within the organization regarding project milestones.
Responsible for maintaining awareness of market trends by attending technical shows and seminars to attain a leadership position in the market place.
Responsible for knowing and understanding the quality policy and how your position contributes to the overall success of the company.
Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Company�s Vision, Mission, Values in all interactions with customers, co-workers and suppliers.
Qualifications
Required
BSEE
5+ years related experience
Strong background in electronics (analog/digital, inverter power supplies)
Strong background physics/material science
Assembly/C, C++ Microchip�s PIC family of microcontrollers programming exp.
Familiar with CAD tools for circuit design, schematic capture and circuit analysis
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and experience in Microsoft Project a plus.
Exp. in full cycle design from concept through production
Ablilty to plan and execute major company wide product development efforts.
Must be willing to be hands on and be own technician in building prototypes, test fixtures by working closely with manufacturing engineering in the development of effective tools and testers.
Highly Desirable
MS in Physics
Project Management Experience
Exp. with the certification process for gas ignition controls and components to ANSI standards
