As our Production Supervisor you must be a self-directed achiever and great leader, able to lead a Lean Six Sigma equipment manufacturing team of hourly employees to safely produce dispensers and dishwashing equipment for our chemical products customers. On a regular basis, the strong candidate will act quickly to troubleshoot quality/manufacturing problems, providing accurate diagnosis so that the mechanical team can resolve problems that would impede success in delivering quality products within deadlines. You will also have opportunities to contribute to Lean Six Sigma projects. The top performer will advance to roles in quality, or production management. Anticipate relocation in 3 to 5 years.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supervises employees to ensure compliance with plant & corporate objectives. Develops safety standards, conducting safety audits, correcting unsafe acts/conditions & enforcing safety rules.
  • Ensures the highest quality product is being produced & interface with Customer Service & Quality on customer complaints & problems. Acts as the primary quality control representative for quality concerns in assigned work centers assuring the proper corrective & preventative actions are taken. Provides various reports to the Production/Distribution Manager regarding work center status, related activities & special projects.
  • Acts as the primary engineer for process improvements in assigned functional work center(s). Assists & confers with others on equipment design & methods to reduce production costs & /or improve quality. Budgets yearly capital & operating expenses & initiate purchases of necessary supplies for the assigned functional work center(s). Executes the plant labor & overhead budget. Executes the production plan per budgeted standards. Chairs relevant plant committees or groups such as safety committee, first aid team, emergency brigade, & TQM teams.

    Basic Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in Chemical Engineer, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Math or Physics.
  • Experience leading in a manufacturing environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA and Six Sigma Green Belt Certification strongly preferred.
