SMT Process Engineer

Talent Acquisition Resources, Inc. is a boutique executive search firm that assisting a Client in the Bangor, Maine area in filling an SMT Process Engineer. Responsibilities � Sets up systems to monitor and report quality processes, using SPC to analyze and improve machine utilization and efficiency. � Provides engineering support by troubleshooting production problems and effecting timely solutions to maintain the continuity of production flow. � Effectively interfaces with manufacturing and support team individuals to design manufacturing/quality processes and improvements within schedule and budgetary parameters. � Participates in NPI/DFM review process and provides suggestions to improve manufacturability and cost savings pre-product release. � Understands and promotes new manufacturing/quality systems initiatives. Prepares capital appropriation requests when investment is required to support these initiatives. Monitor and debugs new methods and procedures to ensure system efficiencies. � Interfaces with design engineering and marketing to effect product design changes and to introduce new products to manufacture. Prepares manufacturing/quality cost estimates and capital appropriation requests to acquire tooling and equipment necessary for manufacture, and quality process control of new product. � Reviews and recommends changes to mechanical drawings and process documentation, providing concept drawings and cost estimates. � Interfaces with other manufacturing and support groups to address and resolve manufacturing, quality, and engineering issues. � Interfaces with vendors and outside sales personnel to evaluate, cost estimate, and select purchase parts and vendor tooling. � Implements production layouts and ergonomic workstations addressing work flow, safety, and quality requirements. Qualifications � Bachelors degree in Electrical field or related field or a commensurate level of related experience. � Two or more years specifically related experience in an SMT manufacturing environment with expertise in X-ray, AOI and BGA rework techniques. Panasonic SMT machine experience, including programming is highly desired. � Working knowledge of quality systems and standards. � Working knowledge and experience in various quality tools (SPC, Pareto, capability studies, etc.) � Interested candidates should forward their resume in Word doc format, along with salary requirements, to: mark@talentacquisitionresources.com
