Contract Manufacturing Engineering Manager

We are seeking candidates for our Engineering Manager position to lead our top-notch, talented team of engineering professionals.

Summary of Job Duties:

The Engineering Manager at Qual-Pro manages our Engineering team and oversees all related engineering functions to exceed the expectations of both internal and customers. Candidate must be hands-on as this role is a functionally working management role. This candidate will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, manage and work as a hands-on Engineering Manager overseeing Manufacturing, Process, Test and Design Engineering as well as Document Control in an ultra-high-quality, high-reliability company. Manufacturing Engineering includes new product introduction, printed circuit board assembly, integrated box-build, configure-to-order and build-to-order operations. Test and Design Engineering includes functional and flying probe in-circuit test solutions. Test solutions include sophisticated test software development and debugging.
• Manage manufacturing processes using data-driven analyses to ensure continuous improvement and measurable progress.
• Manage Document Control to ensure proper work instructions are utilized in a dynamic electronics-manufacturing environment.
• Candidate must possess a very broad based understanding of contract electronics manufacturing.
• Manage a team of eight Engineers, three Document Control personnel and a host of technicians through day-to-day engineering operations.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Quality Assurance and Production in support of the overall delivery schedule.
• Effectively facilitate timely milestones and manage engineering projects to completion.
• Document technical requirements, develop and oversee project plans and implement change control procedures.
• Support Procurement, Production and Quality Assurance in technical problem resolution.
• Interface with customers to obtain all engineering deliverables and to resolve all engineering issues and deviations.
• Manage engineering resources allocated to all areas of the production floor including surface mount, thru-hole, post assembly, mechanical assembly, conformal coating and cable/harness assembly.
• Manage equipment maintenance and process controls for surface mount, thru-hole and test equipment. Surface mount equipment includes Ekra, Mydata, Samsung, YesTech and various other brands. Thru-hole equipment includes the Seho and various other brands. Test equipment includes Acculogic and various other brands.
• Candidate must have excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Candidate must be well versed in dealing with customers.

Requirements:

• 10-15 years experience as an engineer with directly relevant experience.
• Minimum of five years experience as engineering manager.
• BSEE is the minimum level of education.
• Demonstrated skills with project management tools and methodologies and problem solving.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and ability to communicate all requirements and deliverables to both internal and external customers.
• Demonstrated success in the leading people in a team-based environment.
• Experience with surface mount, printed circuit board assembly and electro-mechanical manufacturing processes.
• Strong ability to multi-task with multiple, competing priorities including hands-on engineering and management of others.
• Must be fluent in reading and articulating schematics and drawings.
• Must understand CAD, Circuit CAM programming and Gerber data file formats.
