Technical Support Engineer

Koh Young America is looking for technical field application engineers to support our world class electronics 3D measurement and inspection products. 

This a dynamic position and will require skills to  handle both technical pre-sales activities, such as product demonstrations  and evaluations,  as well as post-sales activities including; initial equipment installations, customer training classes, hardware repair, upgrades, and software installations.  

This position would be based out of the Koh Young America Inc. office located in Chandler, AZ. This is a full time position with salary and benefits. From 50-75% travel can be expected.

Major duties and responsibilities include:

• Become an expert on Koh Young automated 3D inspection products (intensive training will be included in Seoul, Korea or Chandler, AZ, or both)
• Collaboration with sales staff on pre-sales activities, teleconferences, evaluations, quotations,  Etc
• Give flawless product demonstrations in either a Koh Young office, and / or a customer’s site
• Install and commission new machines at customer sites across the USA and occasionally internationally.  ( Canada)
• Train customers on machine programming, operation, and maintenance at both Koh Young offices and onsite at customer’s location.
• Attend electronics industry trade shows exhibitions. Set up and demo machines to potential clients
• Provide technical support to both indirect. (Reps.) and direct sales Koh Young sales channels   

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred but not required.
• Successful candidate must be computer savvy with excellent communication and inductive reasoning skills. 
• Candidate should have a reasonable understanding of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) components and the related assembly processes, quality standards, and SPC methods used in the board level electronics manufacturing industry. 
• Ability to speak Korean in addition to English is a plus.
