Job Description: |
Duties:
-
Supports, develops and optimizes manufacturing processes. Reviews quality metrics to help produce high quality, repeatable processes.
-
Assists with supporting and improving the SMT process (print process, placement, reflow, package-on-package) and the THT soldering processes (hand solder, selective solder, wave solder processes).

Leads metric-driven quality improvements
-
Help support and improve no clean vs. water-soluble flux processes and leaded/lead-free alloy processes.
-
Set up screen printers (familiarity with DEK, MPM a plus) and troubleshoot quality issues with the print process (familiarity with stencil ordering a plus).
-
Extract centroid and create SMT programs (familiarity with Juki, Zevatech, Siemens placement equipment a plus).
-
Optimize programs and implement common and group set-ups.
-
Extract centroid and create SMT AOI programs (familiarity with Omron and CR Tech 6500 a plus).
-
Set up reflow ovens and troubleshoot quality issues with the reflow process.
-
Set up wave solder machines and troubleshoot quality issues with the wave solder process.
-
Support and facilitate Planned, Preventive, Predictive and Total Productive Maintenance.
-
Review quality data & metrics and lead product and process quality improvement (familiarity with Excel, pivot tables, Pareto charts a plus).
-
Lead the CAPA process to close open corrective and preventive actions. (familiarity with 8D or 5 Why defect analysis a plus).
-
Improves process throughput by identifying and eliminating sources of downtime and quality defects.
-
Conduct internal process audits and support external audits of the company's quality system and processes.
-
Performs other related duties as assigned by his/her Engineer.

Analyze and import customer Bills of Materials into MRP (familiarity with IFS a plus).
-
Review customer ECOs and implement changes in production and documentation.
-
Update part AML information.
-
Develop and update operator work instructions (familiarity with Aegis CCAM a plus).
-
Integrating Gerber and CAD data (familiarity with CAMCAD, GC Place, Mentor, Altium a plus).
-
Develop process flow diagrams, FMEAs and control plans as well as value-stream maps.
-
Facilitate the lean production preparation process (3P) as part of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and New Product Introduction (NPI).
Requirements:
-
The candidate must have experience in SMT programming, SMT AOI. Firm understanding of IPC-610 and J-STD-001 standards (certifications a plus).

The candidate should have experience in flow soldering processes.
-
Strong organizational and communication skills are required, as the candidate will work closely with the Engineering teams.
-
Five plus years experience in Contract Manufacturing or OEM environment.

Must be able to read, implement and control front-end documentation: CAD, BOM, gerber, assembly drawings, PCB drawings.

Can effectively identify and apply SMT and THT component packages and installation processes.
