Senior PCB Layout Designer

• Interprets electrical design requirements and uses Allegro design tool to create original PCB layouts, detailed fab drawings, schematics, and other design files.
• Work with HW design engineer to make sure PCB layout meet PCB design requirements.
• Perform all the PCB layout design activities including schematic review, part library creation, component placement, trace routing, and Gerber generation.
• Create, modify, and maintain Allegro part libraries based on component datasheet and drawings.
• Set up and maintain Design Rule Check (DRC) based on DFM/DFT rules, IPC standard, and customer requirements
• Perform PCB design/layout check using DRC, 2D/3D modeling, or other tool (Valor) if applicable.
• Provide quick turn placement and route analysis for design feasibility study.
• Create PCB design package including Gerber, Fab drawing, and other design files for PCB fabrication and PCB assembly.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• High speed, high density and high layer count PCB design and layout experience.
• Experience with EMI/EMC requirement for PCB design.
• PCB design experience with high speed serial communication interface such as SATA/SAS/PCIe, Ethernet and USB interface PCB design.
• PCB design experience with PCI, DDR2/3/4, 12C/SPI, flash interface on board.
• PCB layout experience with impedance control.
• Expert knowledge of Cadence Allegro PCB layout tools and OrCad schematic capture tools.
• Competent in reading schematics and using schematics as layout reference.
• Work effectively with electrical and mechanical design engineers and participate in engineering design reviews.
• Able to manage and mitigate minor mechanical design aspect of the PCB design including brackets and chassis.
• Experience with placement techniques for better EMC/EMI, controlled impedance stacks, signal integrity, multilayer design, and power plane sizing.
• Familiar with developing rules for external requirement into Allegro design rules and constraints file, and able to import and export constraint files.
• Familiar with PCB fabrication assembly process is a plus.
• Associate degree in Engineering or other related field.
• Minimum of 7 years Allegro PCB design experience.
