Inside Sales Trainee

SMT Parts, Inc. is looking for a part-time inside sales assistant for a long-term commitment. The ideal candidate will work a consistent schedule, starting at 20 hours/week. There is opportunity for expansion as the company grows. Hours will be increased as training and ability to work independently develop.

SMT Parts, Inc. has been offering superior aftermarket replacement parts for electronic assembly equipment since 1998. Manufacturing is returning to the U.S., and the person who fills this position will be responsible for identifying new customers and contributing directly to the growth of the company.

Previous experience and knowledge related to the position are preferred but not required. We will train the right person.

Job Responsibilities:

• Research and Qualify Leads
• Gather Information
• Update Customer Database
• Prepare Quotes
• Follow-up and Follow-through on Quotes
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Skills Preferred; however, we will train the right person:

• Previous experience in an electronics manufacturing environment
• Previous telephone sales experience
• Familiarity with Microsoft PC products, especially Access and Excel
• Bilingual a plus

Location and Schedule: Our office is located on Santa Cruz’s west side. This position starts with early morning hours in order to service the East Coast; hours will be increased to include afternoons as needed.

Compensation:
Starting wage is based on experience and includes regular increases and bonuses, directly related to sales. There will be a 3-month training and evaluation period. Compensation includes paid holidays and vacation.
