SMT Equipment Technician

FLEXTECHS is seeking qualified candidates for SMT Equipment Technician position.  This is a contract position at a semiconductor manufacturing company for candidates who are physically located in Boise, ID.

Qualified candidates will have skills and experience in  the following:

• Performing troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of SMT equipment and process related equipment.  This includes equipment and tool calibrations, functional checks, preventive maintenance, and general cleaning
• Performing machine maintenance and calibrations, utilizing an Equipment Tracking Interface to record machine uptime or performance
• Installing PCB manufacturing equipment
• Assist engineering in process development and SPC tracking.
• Supporting a quality-conscious production environment

Requirements:

• Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent Military training and experience is required.  Considerable directly related experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills are required.
• Proficient in reading and verifying electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics/drawings.
• Must be organized, detail orientated and capable of multitasking.
• Have good written and oral interpersonal skills with an ability to work under minimum supervision.
• Must be safety oriented in the proper use of hand and power tools with an understanding of energy isolation on all equipment.
• Experience with any type of SMT equipment, including pick and place, screen printing, optical inspection, router tools and reflow ovens. Experience with soldering processes such as wave soldering and hand soldering. Knowledge of through-hole processes is a plus.
