SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES


Technical collaboration with engineers and operators to explain scientific and technical ideas in language that is easier for average readers to comprehend. The purpose of this position is to provide guidance and support to the production operations through provision of mutually developed (tech writer, engineer, and operator) work instructions from customer documentation:
•Create and update as needed build to packages (BTP) and
•Create production documentation and aids using CircuitCam/Checkpoint software and ensure that the data is updated and accurate to customer and quality requirements.


Other areas of responsibility could include:


1.Promote a work environment where coworkers have the tools, training and leadership to build a quality product with the goal to improve profits and cash flow.
2.Communicate concise and clear data to assist and strive to eliminate waste,
3.Provide a stable workflow through assistance with process improvements and lean activities. Assist the team in process improvements and providing input to training needs through defect and process improvement data and to monitor and ensure that a quality product is produced through teamwork.
Information needed to perform these tasks is KMM and customer confidential and requires an understanding of these expectations.
The CCA Technical Writer will represent KMM as such with the customer. The CCA Technical Writer will conduct themselves in a professional manner and at all times be responsive and respectful.
For teamwork, quality production and production schedules to be met it is primary that all employees meet the attendance, productivity and quality work requirements as well as adhere to all of KMM policies and procedures.
This includes but is not limited to: Process Improvements, Quality of Product, Manpower Scheduling, NCR’s, Personnel Skill Assessments, Training, & Meetings. This position requires a minimum of weekly reporting on the current reporting format to the designated leadership. This includes but is not limited to the duties and responsibilities listed below.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
2.Maintain records and files of work and revisions
3.Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers or establishment personnel.
4.Confer with customer representatives, plant executives, or publisher to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed
5.Study drawings, specifications, mockups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail.
6.Select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material.   7.Create and update as needed Work Instructions from Customer documentation   8.Create and update as needed build to packages (BTP).                                             9.Create production documentation and aids using Circuit Cam/Checkpoint software and ensure that the data is updated and accurate to customer and quality requirements. 10.Input of Bill of Material (BOM) into Dynamics11.                                                           11.Input Router into Dynamic12. Corrective Action and Root cause analysis                                 a.Write any training/actions needed for implementation of corrective actions                           b.Work with Quality in submittal to customer.                                                             12.Review and understand Customer Spec’s.                                                               13.Participate in Lean Activities and assist production in implementation of point of improvement ideas. Participate in lean walks and continually evaluate current practices with the goal of eliminating waste in production operations                                           14.Writing and ensuring the timely incorporation of Product Analysis Reports               15.Writing of general instructions including WD’s and MI’s


EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1.This position requires a two (2) year technical degree or a minimum of two (2) years work experience in related field or has demonstrated through work experience at KMM the necessary skills to perform this function.

7.Extensive knowledge about technical subjects in contract manufacturing
8.Ability to work well under pressure independently and as part of a team.                       9.Organizing materials and completing writing assignments based on set standards 10.Maintaining records or files to be used in revisions                                                     11.Editing written materials prepared by other writers                                             12.Interviewing or communicating with teammates to determine technical specifications of the topic                                                                                                                                   13.Reviewing published materials and making necessary changes                           14.Selecting illustrations, photographs and other art materials for the article           15.Assisting in layout of materials before publication                                                   16.Reviewing trade catalogs; and attending industry events, among others.

Additionally, this position requires the employee is able to communicate (verbally and written) fluently in the English language. These requirements may be temporarily adjusted or modified at the time of the opening and will be based on current labor availability and staffing needs. In these instances it is expected the employee will be able to meet all requirements within 180 days of accepting the position.


EQUIPMENT AND MACHINERY USED
1.This position requires the daily use of a computer and computer related software. The employee must be able to accurately and proficiently enter and retrieve data as needed for the job tasks.
2.Standard office equipment such as copiers, calculators etc will be used, etc.
3.Manufacturing tooling and equipment used in the production operations.
4.Computer controlled specialized equipment to solder, place components, inspect, coat, and clean circuit boards.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1.Mobility to move about production floor
2.Use a computer to be able to write processes and work instructions as required for responsibilities
3.This job may require long periods of sitting and standing to assist production operations throughout the day
4.Must have the ability to communicate clearly using different types of standard office communication media (i.e. written communication, verbal communication, telephone communication, email)
