Job Title: Process Engineer

Company Summary: Acuity Brands, Inc. is a North American Market Leader and one of the world's leading provideres of lighting solutions for both indoor and outdoor applications. Our Crawfordsville Facility is seeking a Process Engineer.

Job Summary: Responsible for the process development/improvment of electronic products in the following areas: SMT, wave soldering, conformal coating and final assembly. The primary function is the development and integration of new electronic technologies for lighting applications.  These technologies include electronic HID ballasts, LED light engines, LED drivers/power supplies, surge suppression devices, and electronic controls for lighting systems.

Key Task & Responsibilities:

• Create new SMT Programs, and reflow/wave profiling for all the new products, for LED light engines and LED drivers. Current with new LED technologies including LEDs, drivers, and thermal management materials (50%)
• Specifies and defines any new process and help to improve the current process to keep them controlled. Supports the product development group with the integration of electronic HID ballasts and controls for luminaires. (20%)
• Supports the current process and controls at IPF (20%)
• Create and improve conformal coating programs (10%)

Desired Skills & Experience:

5 to 10 years of experience plus the education and skills listed below:

• Minimum 2 years of SMT experience, Wave Solder experience, Conformal Solder experience.
• Familiar with Lean Manufacturing
• Familiar with Six Sigma Tools

Bachelors Degree in Engineering.
