Job Description:

Interface with development teams and provide input during the requirement and design phases for Tip/Ring line interfaces. Primary duties will include total hardware development starting from the requirements phase and ending with the test phase. This will include: 1) vendor interface 2) component selection 3) documentation of design 4) schematic entry 5) test. Design knowledge will be required for both analog and digital line interfaces to develop hardware that can provide POTs and XDSL services; the generation of test plans for lightning and power cross testing will also be part of this job. In addition to linecard design, responsibilities will include the design of phase-locked-loops and filters. Responsibilities will also include consulting with digital design engineers that are designing hardware that is primarily digital in nature, but that require some analog circuitry. Experience: At least 7 years experience in analog and linecard design with at least a BSEE degree is required. Experience with PSPICE simulation, Mentor schematic entry, and various PC tools such as Excel and Word is needed. Experience with the following lab test equipment is also expected: 1) transmission test set 2) spectrum analyzer 3) digital scopes 4) Keytek surge equipment 5) PCM tester 6) T1 test equipment 7) LCR meter. Design experience with solid state analog chip sets from either AMD, Infenion, etc. is required. A knowledge of chipsets used to design ADSL, HDSL, VDSL, DS1 and DS3 interfaces would be useful. A solid knowledge of the applicable requirements specified in TR57, TR64, TR303 and TR1089 is also required.
