Citel, Inc. manufacturer of protection devices since 1936, is proud to introduce its new line of ceramic surge arrester gas tubes. They have been designed to protect telecommunications and data communication equipment against electrical transients caused by industrial overvoltages, lightning-related surges, inductive switching or electrostatic discharge. Because of their high isolation resistance and their low leakage current, they are ideal for Wireless and RF applications. Breakdown voltages are available from 75V to 2500V. They feature high energy dissipation characteristics from 5 kA to 100 kA! They come in different sizes and are available on tape and reel for automatic insertion. Citel has also introduced this year a micro ceramic gas tube half the size of regular gas tube and which can be surface mounted (SMD). All Citel ceramic gas tubes have an internal or external fail safe option. They are hermetically sealed and are non radio-active. Furthermore, they keep their characteristics in the dark which is a unique feature of Citel gas tubes. Finally, this new line features both 2 electrode and 3 electrode ceramic gas tubes. Price ranges from $0.30 to $0.90 per unit. Availability is from stock to eight weeks. All Citel gas tubes are UL and CE approved. Citel is ISO 9002.
