For nearly a quarter century, AMTECH has been “filling voids” for the electronics assembly market. Our parent company, Advanced Metals Technology (AMT), first filled a void by developing an exceptional grade of SMT solder powder. Using proprietary separation processes, AMT took solder powder to the next level, creating a powder that is more spherical and uniformly sized, resulting in the most advanced solder paste and unparalleled lot-to-lot consistency.
This tradition of excellence continues at AMTECH. An ISO-9001 certified company, AMTECH utilizes AMT solder powder to manufacture a complete line of solder pastes, tacky fluxes, as well as process support products including solder spheres, bar solder, liquid fluxes and core wire.
Superior Solder Paste Starts with Superior Solder Powder
Wafer level chip scale packaging (WL-CSP) and other high density SMT applications demand AMTECH solder paste, a superior product designed for fine pitch applications. AMTECH solder paste is made from world renowned AMT solder powder, combining the finest virgin alloys with proprietary atomization processes, controlled by Residual Gas Analysis (RGA), to form a more spherical powder. Variable aperture sizing techniques are then used to ensure more consistent sizing without excessive screening - resulting in fewer fines, less friction between spheres, and reduced surface oxidation - so milder flux chemistries can be used. Particle size distribution is also controlled through image and Coulter analysis, with chemical analysis controlled through Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP).
