Maintaining professional competence in today?s fast-paced business environment requires continual upgrading. It is both the mission and mandate of the Professional Development Centre, situated in Canada?s top ranked engineering faculty and university, the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering at the University of Toronto, to help engineers and related professionals maintain their edge. We do this by providing first-rate professional development opportunities. The breadth and scope of the offerings and activities in which the Professional Development Centre is involved is expansive. Our primary task is to offer continuing education seminars, certificates and evening classes to professionals in all disciplines of engineering and related professions. We also provide training in cross-disciplinary fields such as Project Management and Facility Management. An Academic Advisory Committee oversees all of our programs. A Program Advisory Committee, made up of industry and academic experts, oversees special certificate offerings. We offer public and customized training, tailored to industry?s specific needs. Our programs are carefully designed to build the competencies required by working engineers and related technical professionals. Programs reflect our clients? needs for both theory and practical information, and are delivered by leaders in industry and academia. Our success is solely related to our ability to respond quickly and appropriately to the changing needs of our clients and the global market place. Our program development team works to respond to your training needs and to trends as identified by you, industry and other experts in the field. The result of these interactions will be, over time, a greater number and variety of certificate programs that allow participants to complete all or parts of the program, depending on your particular needs.
