West Coast Magnetics has been in business since 1974. We are a leading supplier of standard and customer magnetics to OEM manufacturers of electrical and electronic equipment. Our headquarters are located in Northern California and we presently serve customers in Canada, the United States, and Europe.
Facilities
We own and operate two manufacturing facilities. Our corporate headquarters and U.S. manufacturing facility is located in Stockton, California, a one hour drive to Silicon Valley. Our second production facility is located in Tecate, Mexico. We are able to deliver product into the U.S. within one hour from this facility through our shipping and receiving office on the other side of the border in Tecate, California. Both plants are qualified to our stringent Quality Assurance program.
Capabilities
Capabilities at both facilities include toroidal and bobbin winding equipment, assembly, potting, impregnation and a complete range of electrical tests. All of our products are 100% electrical tested on equipment calibrated to NIST standards.
We are capable of designing and producing power transformers to the following power limits:
· Switch Mode 2 VA to 3 KVA
· 60 Hz Single Phase 2 VA to 4 KVA
· 60 Hz Three Phase up to 20 KVA
· High Voltage: output voltage up to 20 KV
Custom Transformer Design
Our power transformer offerings are custom or semi-custom. In order to keep your costs as low as possible we have developed a number of ferrite and laminated core geometries which are posted on our website and in our literature. We call these geometries semi-custom. We purchase material in bulk for these geometries and are able to pass on improved lead-times and costs to our customers. An added advantage is gained in that all geometrical specifications including board layout are available at the touch of a mouse. This helps to facilitate the custom design process.
Semi custom geometries are available for review under the Switch Mode Transformer and 60 Hz Transformer headings.
If you do not find what you want on our website we also do fully custom designs using a wide range of materials including ferrites, silicon steel and nickel laminations, MPP, kool mu, iron powder and high flux cores.
