In the past year I was responsible for developing and leading a Team focused on AOI, Evaluation, Justification, and with a full ROI required, supporting a HMLV manufacturing environment. If you have in these economic times the additional resources t

Good Morning Roger, The Mirtec's can be adjusted to lower your false call rate. This can be done by reducing the matching percentage for each componnent but the result of this action is that the machine becomes less selective. If you lower them too

With AOI it really depends on what you are testing. Not only what criteria, but what different types of components. We run a high volume low mix application for automotive checking for presense, positional accuracy, and all solder joints. We curre

Are you using the correct nozzle for 0402? Cant remember the number OTTOMH but 501 rings a bell. somewhere I have the table, it is in the Juki service manual IIRC. This would explain placing all others okay but 0402 is not very good , Senoirtech is c

Hi, I need help with placing 0402 resistors 90% of them are picked correctly, but are not placed(thrown away) giving me error : LASER retry over. Slightly higher varistors in same package have slightly better placing rate, about 50%, but still not su

Take all of the nozzles out that are being used to place these parts and look at them under a microscope closely for blockages or dings in the surface that contacts the component. Check that the nozzle travel moves up and down smoothly and freely wi

We know virtually nothing about your process, but here's some guesses: * Turn-off the nitrogen * Change from Sn63 to Sn62 * Change to a low-tombstone paste * Change the thermal recipe: slower ramp, longer soak * Do a better job of placing components

Messy. Messy. Messy. Consider gluing these components, until you control your process. It is unclear to us that a single factor drives these defects, but multiple factors that need to be tuned to work well together. PAD DIMENSIONS * Some SM-782 pa

I was thinking the same thing. Try turning off your anchors and look at the size of your search and % match you have set. if you are concerned about not catching missing components, try training a negative template.

Have you thought about an AOI system? With the system we have where I work, I'm able to run queries that'll tell me DPMO, yield, and pass/fail rates on a board level, part level, and opportunity level. Furthermore, this data can be broken down to see
