Electronics Forum | Fri Aug 18 11:01:52 EDT 2006 | Frank R.

Hi, We have two complete SMT line and in this department we use conveyors for board manipulation. Concerning the wave area we are not full efficiency and I have to look for conveyors and bar code reader to make board manipulation an automatic proces

Conveyors and bar code

Ive been lurking on the forum for a while so I will take a stab at this, mainly because there is no answer I take it that you have a variety of boards being produced at the same time and are in fixtures so the conveyors dont need to be adjusted, a

SPM Printer, MIssing side bar to scroll and change values

I am learning to use this SPM now, and I found that when I go to define a board size, you select the parameter box, then the parameter (like Board size X....) - I can only change the value by rolling the mouse ball, the side bar which is shown in the

Is anyone using K100 bar solder? Why or why not?

Electronics Forum | Fri May 12 12:07:10 EDT 2006 | solderiron

The kester better known as KY'd Sn/Cu has more copper intermetallic growth over time, dissolves copper from the board faster so repairing and touchup can damage board. Bridges more than SN100c. Does not thermal cycle well. Has shrink cracks that can

Take some of your boards along & run them. Try the same with the other alloys and see which suits your products best (make sure you make a note of the fluxes being used, and if the machines have similar preheats, nitrogen etc than yours).

We use SnPb paste and bar with leaded and non-leaded component finishes. The predominant finish on components we use is Tin, there are a few NiPdAu. We've had no problems with the component finishes used in the SnPb process.

Putting a center board support on lead free wave

Electronics Forum | Thu Apr 15 20:55:36 EDT 2004 | Ken

Try: Tungsten, tungsten carbide, ceramics like boron-nitride or how about pyrex glass? Glass blowers could make "hooks" that connect to a cross bar. I would NOT use aluminum (even if anodized). Try stainless steel 316. 303, 304 do not have enough
