We have x30 PPU's across x3 FCM Base 1's which are not working properly (error is "image too low"??). Please advise on how to repair/replace these (besides Assembleon themselves). Thanks in advance, Jason

There are some web-based and LAN-based training programs on lead free SMT manufacturing at the Automated Learning Systems web site. These are pretty good resources. BWET

used Philips Emerald, Emerald-X or Emerald X2 if you want networking and an easy GUI. The first 2 are DOS-based, the latter one WinNT based. They take the Yamaha feeders, which are frequently offered on the equipment mart.

My boss is thinking about buying a used Philips FCM Base II. I was wondering if anyone out there has had experience with them, and could offer their opinion. Thanks for any input.

Can't be done. HP300 are Motorola MC68K-family based UNIX workstations and you can't run machine software on PC-based hardware. - Deni

Have you tried the alcohol based flux on your ive yet? (even if it isn't specd for leadfree). Water based flux seems more prone to solderballing. edit: why is sel ective changed to ive and alte rnative changed to native?? censorship for innovation

Try Avantec Topklean EL-60, can clean off solder paste or uncured glue, is hydrocarbon based cleaner - but with high flash point. Will evapourate faster than water based solutions, not as fast as IPA , but does much better job.
