Hi Scott, Change the nozzle type to Type 73 for the LEDs and you'll find it's ok. I just tried it and with Type 73 it picked up the Cap and LED in a single shot but with Type 74 it went for 2 charges.

Is it the CREE with the soft dome? We had to get specially made nozzles for our SAMSUNG machines to pick up cree LEDs correctly. They are basically rubber tipped. We bought from Count on Tools website.

Try switching to a polymer nozzle. Your machine manufacturer may sell them on any machine shop can mill you one. Also check to see if your pick and place had a puff off function. Some older machines have a mechanical adjustment on the mac valve used
