I have been using an Air-Vac DRS-22 for almost two years with very good results. Once a profile is developed it is very repeatable. The DRS-22 is no longer available, however. It has been replaced by the DRS-24. Unfortunately, the DRS-24 has a lo

I know there must be a specification for this but I don't know what it is. What is the maximum psi setting for an air line that is used to dry assemblies off an aqueous cleaner? The assemblies are fixed but predominately SMT with many 0602/QFP/BGA co

Hello, During a recent customer audit, one of their auditors asked if we measured airborne particles in our SMT operation area. Within their operations, they mentioned a concern when placing micro-BGA's. My question is: do some SMT lines use a pseudo

Hi, We have had some failures due to particles, but only larger visible particles such and you should not need a real "clean room" but it's important to make sure things are kept clean, and sweep and mop as often as you need to make sure everything

| Anyone know a independent PCB inspection of BGA (X-Ray). We have several test boards that need BGA inspection. | One more source. Circuit Technology Center. Both X-ray services on Nicolet X-ray systemm and BGA rework on Air-Vac and OK Internation

Reworking BGA with hot air systems (ie, AirVac, SRT) is fairly complicated and requires fairly rigorous process control. Please compare and contrast BGA rework using hot air and your laser based system.

We are currently using an Air-Vac DRS24 hot air BGA/SMD rework unit. Most of our nozzles are designed to channel the exhaust away from nearby components. This and a minimum keepout of .100" has prevented any issues with secondary reflow of those co

The Ersa system is fine however there are thermocoupling problems and the service from Ersa has been very poor of late. The Metcal won't handle larger boards and the heating is inconsistent.Especially with BGA components. We see this via inspection
