hi, i am proccess eng solder wave process.I have problem with a PCB.There have ceramic SMD capacitor, SMD thermistor and SMD inductor 1uH.After reflow all is OK, but after SW these components are broken???The pin is separated from the body???the que

The diode doesnt appear completely broken. It takes a bit white color (cristal break, I think), instead of the normal red/orange. It works like a 20K-200K ohm resistor. !The diode can be working properly and sometimes change to bad! I think it may

Hi guys. Maybe it helps someone. We solved almost all issues on our machine with changing the capacitors arround the processor on our motherboard. We first suspect the Power supply and decided to use two power supplies, one for the MB and the other o

I just started an analysis concerning broken capacitors (0603 ceramic). My first question concern the standard used to determine the maximum force a capacitor 0603 can support on a pcb. Some capacitors suppliers use the die sheer test of MIL-STD-883

JM, Be sure to include in your analysis to check the caps before placement. We had some problems w/ EPCOS caps being already cracked in the tape. I don't know about max force permitted for a given cap.

Hello, When we discover the broken caps, there are missing and we can observe only either the 2 terminaisons or a small part of ceramic. The defect is due to a shock during the process but it's possible that the caps are fragilized during an operati

Greetings to all. We are currently experiencing cracking of the ceramic capacitors, on both primary and secondary sides of the PWB. The components range in size from 1206, 1210, to 1815s. The cracks do not appear to alter the electrical properties

Sure, researchers measure shear as an element of their material characterization process, but that does not make it an acceptance test. [Truly, this conversation is not uncommon on SMTnet. So, it would not surprise me if an enterprising something o
