Anyone have experience with SMT fuse clips for automotive "mini" fuses? We have a new design coming down and I have questions about feeding, placement accuracy, and repair.

It sounds like this part is floating on your solder joint during reflow. You may need to redesign your pad geometry. In general with this type of clip - smaller pads are better. If you cannotcahnge pad size, try changing the openings on your stenc

We are having issues with these parts tilting to one side during reflow. Of course when they are tilted, they have to be reworked because the shield won't fit on. Changing board design and part design is not an option.... I think there are 2 reasons

What is part vendor? Can you look that up and determine supply type etc tape/reel/bulk etc... Does it have a design/surface that a SMT nozzle can consistantly pick from? We place thousands of differents clips with ease. If your part can be picked and

I can post that info when we get it from our design team. All we have right now is a drawing and a BOM calling out "mini fuse" of 5 different values. The clip/socket is not called out at all, but going by the shape on the asembly drawing & mask lay

Depending on your PNP equipment it looks as though it will work fine. Hard to tell pick surface of component based off their drawing, but as the old saying goes "technically anything is possible" good luck K

For the automotive minifuse we use the Zierick 6092 fuseclip that requires their model 9700 for installation. They do have a surf shooter that can place the fuse directly onto the board but the engineering time to mate their machine to your SMT platf

Thanks for the info - still do not know what was designed in - whoever laid out the PCB is no longer with the company, and nobody knows what he was planning to use.

Does anyone know where I can find the clips that hold the reels on CP feeders. There are a couple places that sell them after market , but we are not interested in paying 7.00 a piece for them. The fuji pn is lpc-6530 Thanks

The generic name for these is Hairpin Clip. Get the dimensions you need and buy them by the hundreds from a hardware supplier. Jerry
