The Pananame for the thickness sensor is the line sensor.

Have you checked the placement height? it will need to be set down to about 0.5mm - 0.6mm, whereas you can get away with 0.9mm for 0603. Not a Panasonic expert but I've seen this nearly every time a customer has taken the step down. Cheers, Rob.

It's normal for us when we review design. We have found that in the Y axis we need .015" whereas in the X axis we can use .005" spacing. this relates to our nozzle size vs. pickup skew etc... This wouldn't apply if there are parts taller than XXX

Yes 0402 8X4 embossed feeders exist for Panasonic MSR, Universal GSM, Contact Systems, and Mimot for sure. In the old days of 0402 components, 0402 resistors used to come in 8X4 paper tape but now I think most 0402 resistors and capacitors come in 8
