Removing oil from compressed air

Electronics Forum | Thu Jul 10 09:41:37 EDT 2014 | bobpan

Can anyone recommend a top notch filter to remove oil from the compressed air lines. The filter will be placed before the machine. We have traps that catch .01 micron oil in the airline but it is still getting through to the machine. Thanks, Bob

Removing oil from compressed air

Use an oil free compressor ;). My UK based answer would be: We treat our air at point of use with a desiccant air dryer by Walker Filtration (this unit looks remarkably similar to units by Mark, Beko and others (especially the controller) this dryer

What is the compression on the spring and also what is the alloy of the preform? These make significant differences in wetting and compression forces.

ISO Air Quality Spec for Compressed Air Pick n Place Equipment

Hi Guys, I recently have moved my 2 smt lines (Assembleon) and need to make sure my compressed air quality does not have any oil and water. The specs in the manual state "water and oil free" compressed air which is very vague. Would anyone know wh

I'm trying to set up a SPC for a thermo compression beam lead attach process. We're using a west bonder thermo compression machine. I'd appreciate any input on temperature, pressure, tool, and critical process considerations. thanks, -kiet.

Conformal coat removal

I know Micro Care made a unit that removed conformal coating with compressed air and a solvent. But they no longer make it. Does anyone have the 2000 version of this unit and may want to sell it or know of another compressed air solvent solution, p

PCB finish for compression mount connectors (LGA's)

Electronics Forum | Tue Dec 19 15:36:12 EST 2006 | zanolli

Does anyone have any reliability history on using compression mount connectors, such as LGA sockets (no soldering of contacts as contact exerts spring pressure on PCB pad) to PCBs with immersion Au or ENIG finished pads?

Electrostatic Discharge due to Compressed Air

I am using compressed air to dry my PCBs and to remove dust from my PCBs. This is causing electrostatic build up on the PCBs. What do you suggest rather than an Ionized Air Gun?

Electrostatic Discharge due to Compressed Air

Dear Tom, Thanks a lot for your reply. That is exactly what I had in mind and I think that it is the best solution. Another solution is to increase the humidity in the area where the compressed air is being applied. But do you think there are othe

Manual Stencil Cleaning Solvent

Electronics Forum | Tue Oct 11 13:50:21 EDT 2005 | stepheniii

you take the stencil which is contaminated with basically a toxic substance, add a solvent (alcohol) then use compressed air to blast it all into the air you breathe. I used to use foam wipes that were pretty good. I've also seen thick clothe ones t
