Does anyone know of a good masking material for conformal coating? The coating is silicon based. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Here is a posting by P Kinner at Humiseal ... Typically, there are three main approaches to avoid coating wicking into press-fit connectors (and other keep out areas). Wicking is a phenomenon caused by a combination of low viscosity of conformal coa

I've recently been placed in control of operations of our SCS conformal coat sprayer and I must eliminate problems with wicking of humiseal 1b73 into surface mount connectors while also trying to minimize masking as much as possible. We use a 55:45

We know nothing of DeFelsko, but do understand how they distinguish between the solder mask and the conformal coat. DeFelsko manufactures hand-held, non-destructive coating thickness gages that are ideal for measuring the dry film thickness of confo

The masking boots can be obtained from Sinclair and Rush - their web address is http://www.sinclair-rush.com Regarding the type of conformal coat material you require that is down to the service environment/product life expectancy etc. etc. What do

I would suggest trying an acrylic peelable mask. In most cases peelable temporary masks are latex materials. Since you use an acrylic conformal coating it makes sense to use a mask with the same make up to avoid incompatabilities. Link to acrylic mas
