On circuit board assemblies first pass yields need to be above 98%, if a supplier is below this level it is a indication that: he has poor control of the manufacturing process; Poor component selection (price over quality; excepted a poor design from

I'm a mechanical engineer and we buy electronic pressure sensors and switches. In doing quality audits, I need to understand what "best practice" will yield in terms of conforming product first time through the manufacturing process? Any data out t

Last I heard DEK was coming out with a new Revision of Form Flex to address some of the problems seen on the old revs. You should contact Dek and see if they will replace your old ones with the new rev. When ot works it's a great tool.

for option 3, if you place the connectors on the first pass then flip the board, won't the protruding leads interfere with second pass stencil printing? My vote would be to overprint onto the solder mask. you can print pretty far and still have it w

We had a similar problem with lead-free through-hole components. We baked those baords to remove the residual moisture and everything went to 100% pass - defect was gone. Couldnt hurt to try a sample run while you decide if the PCB holes need to be

We are in the process of preparing for a new board that requires paste in hole processing. The hole is a .020" via, and our customer wants it filled with solder, but not bulging past flush. For printers,we use a DEK 249 with a squeegee, and a DEK 260

It may be your screen printer my friend. You are using a MPM aren't you? I knew it. Try a DEK to rid yourself of these pesky problems.

I have a CEM-1 PCB board with 35 microns copper. This is PCB is finished with SMOBC+HALS. We do solder SMT LEDs, but till date we do not have problems that you have listed. The LEDs are good & bright. It even passed high & low temp cycle tests (-40 t
