A few weeks back we experienced a wave process problem where we received deposits on our pcb. At first we though it was dedrites but after an outside analysis of the deposits they were found to be tin. We have tried to remove the deposits with brus

Hello, I would like to ask for cooments/advices about the inspection of small solder deposits inspection (aprox 4 mills). We tried with X ray and Scanning acoustic microscope but it looks like due to the small size, we could not be sure to get all t

Jason - I have only one thing to add to Dave's excellent (as usual) information. Some time back we had a similar problem and we removed the dross bits with a soldering iron and solder wick. Yes, it's tedious and you have to look closely to be

I know it's a tin residue because we have a Cheme in house who had a spectrum analysis performed in an outside lab. The waves parameters were out of control long enough to effect a number of units that are, well can I say substaincial in a fiscal s

I made an experiment with our semi-auto stencil printer and used my naked eye to decide whether the alignment and deposition is pass or fail. I based the results in percentage and 100% is perfect result. Now here's the question: Can anyone tell me w

Thank you so much Dave, by having different lots of PCB received (same Supllier) with suspected and good carbon ink deposit, I found useful to adopt a comparison test among the different lots by usingthe IPC-TM-650 2.4.1 Adhesion , Tape Testing (lik
