This happens on the counting area which it is > into warehouse , Have you confirmed that? Have you seen empty pockets? Or are you taking someone's word for that? How many extra parts does the stockroom give to SMT to cover droppage?

Our company has recently changed the way our cage gives our SMT Department their parts to try to better control inventory. SMT now instead of recieving reels recieves strips with only 2-20 extra parts depending and the size/cost of the part. Does any

We issue extra parts like this: 8/2 caps and resis. - 40 over 8/4 caps and resis. - 20 over 8/4 IC's - 7 over 12mm - 7 over larger feeders + stick + matrix = the correct # req'd. These #'s were based on our first SMT lines (used equip.) and we made

It's more about how difficult to handload the those extra parts at the end of kit. i.e. big size connector, doesn't require extra. Micro parts like QFN, QFP would be depend on the kit size; under qty of 50, 1 or 2 extra would be good. If qty over 1

We run a Mydata high mix, low volume line. You can handle strips with either the Agilis feeders (losing the first 5-10 parts) or by placing the strip on the Y or tray wagons. For cheap parts like resistors, capacitors, some diodes and small ICs, ou

Hello all, Do you have any written rules to your purchasing team how many extra parts to buy based on package/price? I am trying to set some rules, as we are seeing terrible setup condition caused by wrong quantities buy.

So after barcoding takes place, is this info sent to the feeder or the outside world (is the feeder just a number that the pick and place machine looks for or does the feeder tell the machine what it has)? I guess if every machine and remote feeder f

We have it set up in our ERP system. When it produces the Work Order it adds whatever extra parts we say. And we have a relatively inexpensive system I would think most systems for electronic manufacturing would have that ability. A few lifetimes

Hello Stephen, do you know what rules were followed in defining these extra quantities? This is what I am trying to achieve as well. We have the system, the setup is wrong.

Tom, my thinking was more towards base it on size and package definition rather than base it on work orders. If work order requires 10pcs 0201 resistor, having 12pcs on hand doesn't do the job. If it is 50mmx50mm BGA, then 1 extra piece on each 100p
